History of the bombings

On August 6, 1945 during WWII an American B-29 bomber dropped the worlds first deployed atomic bomb over Hiroshima. The explosion wiped out 90% of the city and immediately killed 80,000 people. Tens of thousands more will later die off radation exposure. Three days later, a second B-29 dropped another A-bomb on Nagaski killing 40,000 people. Targeted for military reasons and for its terrian Hiroshima was home to 250,000 people at the time of the bombing.

At 8:15am, "Little-Boy" was dropped from 9,400m above the city, free falling from 57 seconds while a complicated series of fused triggers looked for a target height of 600 meters above the ground. At the moment of detonation, a small explosive initiated a super-critical mass in 64 kg of uranium. Of that 64 kg, only .7 kg underwent fission, and of that mass, only 600 milligrams was converted into energy - an explosive energy that seared everything within a few miles, flattened the city below with a massive shockwave, set off a raging firestorm and bathed every living thing in deadly radiation.

Deaths and Casualties 

As many people as the bomb "Little-boy" and "Fat Man" killed, they had it coming by dropping a bomb on Pearl Harbor. Even though the American Bombs killed my people, it still effected each country the same, resulting in many casulities and citie destruction. As the bombs were being dropped by the Americans they knew exactly how many people it would kill, but what they didn't know was how many people would die after because of the radiation.

Three days later the US dropped a second bomb on Nagaski, which they called "Fat Man". This decsion that the US made during WWII was an order to end the war. Regardless of the motivation for using the bombs they left a death toll of 210,000 in Hiroshima and Nagaski.The US thought that it was necessary to bomb Japan. The citizens of the United States thought that the bombings would put an end to the Pacific War and saved countless lives.
